Mercer Slough farm stand is back for blueberries
U-pick blueberries return to Mercer Slough and Larsen Lake this weekend, June 28-29, following a hiatus due to light rail construction. Starting July 8, picking hours will expand to Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first 200 customers at Mercer Slough purchasing U-pick blueberries will receive free ice cream sandwiches as a promotional incentive. Both farm stands will also be open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A new farm stand at Mercer Slough opened in August 2024, replacing one made inaccessible by transit construction. This development highlights Bellevue's commitment to preserving its agricultural legacy, which began with the city’s acquisition of the Overlake Blueberry Farm in 1979. The Mercer Slough stand is conveniently located near the South Bellevue light rail stop, making it accessible for visitors. The farm stand offers fresh produce, cut flowers, and local goods, emphasizing the area's agricultural history and community engagement.
