Food Truck Program at Bellevue City Hall Extended through October

The City of Bellevue has extended its food truck pilot program at City Hall Plaza through October 31, responding to positive feedback from downtown workers and food vendors. The program features a rotation of 11 different food trucks operating every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This initiative not only draws people to the recently remodeled plaza but also fosters community interaction during lunchtime. It is part of the broader Grand Connection program, which aims to enhance public spaces and connectivity in downtown Bellevue. Other projects under this initiative include expanding Meydenbauer Bay Park and improving access to Eastrail. Food trucks play a vital role in the local economy, reflecting the creativity of their operators while facing challenges in securing consistent locations. Rosario Alessio, owner of the L’Italiano food truck, highlighted how the setup with tables and chairs makes the plaza more inviting. The city is exploring future programming for the plaza to further enhance the community experience.
