Community Development Block Grant comment period open

The Bellevue Human Services Commission is opening the floor for public comments regarding the draft 2025-2029 Community Development Block Grant Consolidated Plan, which outlines the city's strategy for utilizing federal block grants over the next five years. This plan, which will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, aims to enhance affordable housing and economic opportunities specifically for low- and moderate-income individuals. The public comment period is set from September 16 to October 17, and residents can review the draft plan online or request a copy via email. A public hearing will be held on October 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall and online, allowing for direct community input. The agenda for the hearing will be available shortly before the event. The commission encourages residents to share their thoughts, as this feedback will be instrumental in shaping the final plan. This initiative reflects Bellevue's ongoing commitment to supporting urban development and community welfare.
