Crossroads and Newport neighborhood area planning launches

The Bellevue City Council has launched a new phase of neighborhood area planning for the Crossroads and Newport areas, as announced on September 17, 2024. This effort is part of the Great Neighborhoods program, which aims to update the city's Comprehensive Plan, addressing critical local issues such as housing, transportation, and environmental sustainability. The plans developed through this process will serve as vital tools for guiding city staff and developers in making improvements aligned with community needs and aspirations. A virtual event on October 10 will mark the official kickoff of the planning process, offering residents an opportunity to learn more and engage directly with city planners. The Great Neighborhoods initiative emphasizes extensive community engagement to ensure that the plans reflect the desires of local residents. Participants can register for the event on EventBrite and access additional resources through Engaging Bellevue. By fostering community dialogue, Bellevue aims to create vibrant neighborhoods that enhance identity and mobility options for all residents. For more information, residents are encouraged to visit the Great Neighborhoods webpage.
