City celebrates latest graduates from Bellevue Essentials
On December 12, 2024, the Bellevue community will gather to celebrate the graduation of the 2024 class from the Bellevue Essentials program, which promotes civic engagement among residents. The event, held at City Hall, will feature keynote speaker David Bowling, CEO of Eastside Foundation, who will address the 'Power of Collaboration.' With a rich background in community support, including his role as executive director for Congregations for the Homeless, Bowling is a strong advocate for local issues. Class speaker Naren Briar, founder of Genocideedu.org, will also share her insights. This graduation marks a significant transition for the graduates, encouraging them to move from learning to active community participation. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Bellevue Essentials program and how to get involved, with applications for the next class opening in May 2025. The event highlights the city’s commitment to empowering citizens to tackle important social issues such as homelessness and affordable housing. Residents are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Julie Ellenhorn via phone or email.
