** Provide Input on Lake Hills Connector Culvert Project

The City of Bellevue is proactively enhancing the ecological health of the Kelsey Creek watershed by removing the culvert under Lake Hills Connector Boulevard. This project is part of Bellevue's Fish Passage Improvement program, aimed at restoring ecosystems and facilitating the movement of native fish, including salmon, to critical spawning habitats. The existing culvert is a barrier that prevents fish from accessing over five miles of upstream habitat. In addition to improving fish passage, the project will address flood prevention by enhancing water flow, protecting nearby homes and streets from heavy rain. The city encourages community involvement and feedback through Environmental Services Commission meetings and open houses.
