New Art Exhibit at The Watermark Bellevue "Feeling Our Age"
The Watermark at Bellevue has unveiled the 'Feeling Our Age' art exhibit, featuring 62 powerful portraits of women over 60 by Portland artist Kathleen Cosgrove. Accompanied by personal essays, the exhibit explores the unique stories and challenges these women face, aiming to redefine societal narratives surrounding aging. With 53% of women over 65 reporting workplace ageism, this exhibit serves as an essential platform for change. Campus executive director Shawn Jervis highlighted the exhibit's role in celebrating aging as a strength. This initiative aligns with the community's commitment to arts and cultural programming, enriching residents' lives and fostering connections. A special reception on November 7 will allow attendees to meet the artist and engage with the exhibit, which is open to the public until early 2025. By showcasing these narratives, the exhibit promotes awareness and encourages a cultural shift in perceptions of aging.
