La Mar Cocina Peruana, an authentic Peruvian restaurant established by renowned chef Gastón Acurio, will open its doors in Downtown Bellevue on October 14, 2024. The restaurant aims to celebrate traditional Peruvian gastronomy with a menu featuring iconic dishes such as cebiches, causas, and grilled an'cuchos, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Acurio highlights the importance of showcasing Peruvian cuisine globally, focusing on the region's culinary diversity and unique local ingredients. Executive chef Kaoru Chang, a third-generation Nikkei, will reflect the rich culinary heritage of Peru, influenced by various cultures over centuries.
