BellHop is Here to Stay
Bellevue's BellHop service, known for its eco-friendly, free electric rides, has been established as a permanent transportation option for residents and visitors. Launched in 2023, it has quickly become a valued community asset, providing over 47,200 rides and saving approximately 62.6 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. The service is part of Bellevue's broader sustainability commitment, supported by partnerships with Amazon and the City of Bellevue. Mayor Lynne Robinson highlighted BellHop's role in enhancing urban mobility and addressing the last-mile gap for essential trips. The service is now extending operational hours to better serve morning commuters, increasing its value. BellHop connects users to local businesses and attractions, fostering economic growth in the area. This initiative aligns with the city’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and to operate on 100% renewable energy by 2050. As BellHop continues to evolve, it plays a crucial role in transforming Bellevue's transportation landscape.
