Meta has expanded its footprint in Bellevue, Washington, by establishing a new office in The Spring District, where it plans to grow its employee base to over 8,000, making it the company's second-largest engineering hub. The new location is strategically chosen for its accessibility and vibrant tech community, which includes academic institutions and a thriving startup ecosystem. At the grand opening, Meta unveiled innovative technologies such as the Meta Quest 2 VR headsets and Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, highlighting its focus on driving tech advancements. In addition to technological innovation, Meta has committed to being a good neighbor by investing $8.5 million in small business grants and a $2 million investment in the Eastrail Corridor, promoting non-motorized transportation. Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson emphasized the importance of Meta's role in the community, expressing excitement for future collaborations. Furthermore, Meta supports local art through its Met Opens Art program, showcasing various installations by local artists in their offices. Rajwat, head of Meta's Pacific Northwest office, reiterated the company’s commitment to enhancing the local economy and fostering community relationships. Meta's ongoing initiatives indicate a strong future presence and a desire to contribute positively to Bellevue's growth.
