Bellevue's Lake to Lake Bike Ride Returns for 9th Year of Outdoor Fun

Bellevue's Lake to Lake Bike Ride is returning for its 9th Annual event on June 11, 2022, fostering community engagement and physical activity. As the most active small city in the U.S., with 86% of its residents physically active, Bellevue excels in promoting a healthy lifestyle through events like this. Participants can choose between an 8-mile Greenbelt Loop and a more challenging 24-mile Lake Loop, catering to diverse biking preferences. Theo Mittelstaedt, the community services supervisor, founded the ride in 2012 to create a fun and safe cycling environment for local families. Local sponsors, including Crossroads Bellevue and Overlake Medical Center, provide essential support, including bike techs for maintenance during the event. Registration fees of $15 will benefit Bellevue’s Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, while kids can join for free. After two years of cancellations due to the pandemic, the community welcomes the return of the ride. Mittelstaedt is also considering hosting a fall ride to continue promoting alternative transportation and community fitness.
