Unwind With Bellevue's Yoga in the Park, Returning June 4

Bellevue's Yoga in the Park will return on June 4, offering outdoor yoga classes every Saturday morning until August. Each session is priced at $5, or participants can register for the entire season at $65. Laurie Sasser, the program's founder, launched Yoga in the Park as a free pilot program during the pandemic, expecting minimal participation but ultimately attracting around 45 attendees per class. She emphasizes the importance of making yoga accessible to everyone, stating her goal is to provide affordable self-healing tools for community members. The initiative not only promotes health but also supports local businesses, as Sasser previously collaborated with JujuBeet to encourage attendees to visit local eateries after class. Although JujuBeet has since closed, she aims to partner with other health-focused businesses in the area. Looking ahead, Sasser aspires to expand the program to include classes in Tai Chi and meditation, further enriching the local wellness scene. Her vision centers on cultivating friendships and community within Downtown Bellevue, inviting everyone to join and benefit from this outdoor activity.
