International Ballet Academy Celebrates 20th Anniversary Season
The International Ballet Academy is proudly celebrating its 20th Anniversary Season with a commitment to community engagement through complimentary dance classes. For the month of October, the Academy invites children aged 20 months to three years to join the ‘Dance With Me’ lessons every Saturday, enhancing early childhood exposure to dance. Artistic Director Vera Altunina asserts that the Academy serves as a beacon of art within the community, blending traditional ballet with contemporary styles to create a more accessible dance environment. In November, the Academy plans to extend its outreach with free lessons in their Preparatory Program for dancers aged nine to 16, emphasizing the importance of introducing youth to dance. Altunina maintains that while the curriculum will uphold classic ballet teachings, it will also evolve to include modern, jazz, and flamenco styles. This diverse approach aims to encourage artistic exploration among students of all ages. The Academy's initiatives underscore its mission to foster a love for dance and music in the local community.
