Person Behind The Place Lorie Hoffman

Lorie Hoffman, who recently took on the role of Arts Community Manager for Bellevue after serving as Executive Director at Shorelake Arts, believes that art and culture are essential components of community well-being. She recalls the void felt during the pandemic when public gatherings and cultural events were restricted, reinforcing the need for vibrant community arts. Currently, Bellevue is rolling out a utility box wrap program and preparing for the installation of a large sculpture in Downtown Park, showcasing her commitment to enhancing public art. Hoffman is particularly enthusiastic about creating additional grants for local arts organizations, recognizing their expertise in delivering valuable cultural experiences. Her personal journey from a rural upbringing to a bustling urban environment fuels her passion for fostering a thriving arts scene. She regularly enjoys lunch at Sushi Kudasai and has her sights set on trying Monsoon and Rouge Cocktail Lounge next. Hoffman's favorite hidden gem is the Pacific Northwest Art Laboratory, a space dedicated to creative exploration. With her plans and vision, Hoffman aims to significantly elevate Bellevue's cultural landscape.
